Job Summary:



This Employee is responsible for organizing, marketing, coordinating and managing the Facility's Admissions process to provide potential clients with Facility-related written information, Facility tours, personal meetings, assessments, communications and follow-up; implements and coordinates effective marketing programs and exhibit a sincere desire to work with the elderly

Qualifications:



Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or related field with two years experience in similar position in healthcare; must be proficient in Microsoft Office, have good oral and written communications skills and be able to develop and sustain the cooperation of others

Duties and Responsibilities:



Cultivates communications with hospital Social Services, Discharge Planners, families and other referral sources; obtains approval of Administrator or designee prior to each Admission Provides Facility tours; provides in-hospital visits/assessments, communicates with family members of prospective Residents Manages the Admissions process by maintaining updated census data and Facility information at all times Manages the inquiry process professionally and timely with appropriate follow-up Effectively manages occupancy levels and census/case mix enhancement, utilizing bed management principles Coordinates outside sales calls with the Marketing Director for medical, insurance, hospital discharge planners, legal and financial professionals, senior citizens organizations, social workers and other community contacts Develops and maintains relationships to advise referral sources of bed availability and Facility Services that can meet the needs of the community Maintains a database of current and potential referral sources Chairs the Daily Admissions Meeting and informs Department Heads and other affected personnel of special needs of Residents and projected changes, i.e., new Admissions, bed and/or room changes and discharges Recommends Admissions decisions to the Administrator, Director of Nursing and Case Manager Ensures appropriate Admissions documents and signatures are obtained from Residents or Responsible Parties prior to, or during Admission As requested by the Administrator, attends Family and Resident Council Meetings and counsels with families. Maintains a thorough knowledge of State and Federal Regulations, especially Medicare and Medicaid; maintains a strong working knowledge of the Managed Care referral process Monitors inquiry, Admission and census trends as a part of the Facility's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process Prepares Monthly Inquiry Summary Report, Inquiry Log and other reports, monitors all active and inactive inquiries and submits reports to Administrator Maintains a database of medical contacts and community resources along with a knowledge of industry trends and regulatory issues; communicates this information to Facility staff Provides Public Relations services as requested by the Administrator Monitors and evaluates Resident satisfaction via Surveys with new admits and Discharged Residents and families; shares information with Facility Management, CQI Committee and others As requested, acts as liaison and facilitator for census increase and assists, as requested, with census in other Bedford Facilities; assists with marketing visits, phone calls, referral follow-up, and other tasks
