Job Description


Under the direct supervision of the office manager and in partnership with the Administration Manager, and clinic director provide administrative clerical assistance with the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This position is located at 801 N. Pike West Street, Sumter, SC 29153.
Performs basic clerical tasks, such as systematically arranging letters, memoranda, invoices, and other indexed documents according to an established system.
Receive and documents payments per DoFS guidelines to include writing receipts to clients and notating payments on internal tracking mechanism as well as daily balancing of all funds collected for deposit. Assist with financial reviews under the guidance of the OM.
Triage Medicaid, Medicare, and all other insurance provider coverage verification before scheduled appointments.
Performs data entry and uses electronic medical records software programs. Process clinical medical records for release upon authorized request. Prepare records for scheduled appointments. Update all changes and modifications to computerized billing and management information systems in a timely manner.
Complete intakes with new patients and verify source of payments for services rendered. Enter all data after clinical paperwork is complete. Process data entry and paperwork on closed cases.
Complies with SCDMH Corporate Compliance plan and SWCMHC Corporate Compliance policy; all billing and documentation practices are processed within compliance and policy.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Travel throughout the Santee-Wateree CMHC catchment area as directed.

State Min. T&E - A HS Diploma. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
DMH Min. T&E (Internal) - A high school diploma and two years of clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science of other related field, or three years clerical experience Note: If any Agency Requirements are listed above, applicants must also meet those requirements to be considered for the position.Office experience in a Medical or Mental Health setting.
