The Administrative Specialist will support academic departments within the School of Education and Human Development on the University's Gorham campus. This role involves a variety of administrative and clerical tasks that require strong organizational skills and in-depth procedural knowledge. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, onboarding new students, assisting with course scheduling and registration, maintaining student records, and updating program websites. The Administrative Specialist also serves as the primary point of contact and an ongoing resource for both internal and external stakeholders, including current and prospective students, faculty and staff, and personnel in partnering K-12 schools and related organizations.
The ideal candidate for the Administrative Specialist position enjoys collaboration with a team and is committed to providing student-focused services. Effective oral and written communication, technology, and organizational and time management skills are essential for success. The Administrative Specialist must be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, exercise initiative and sound judgement, maintain confidentiality, and interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

This full-time position on the Gorham campus will receive a starting pay rate of $19.61/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System. The position also affords an excellent opportunity to pursue a bachelor's or advanced degree through the University's generous tuition waiver benefit.
