This position is responsible for all budgetary functions, fiscal management, purchasing and procurement for the Alexandria, Monroe and Shreveport Child Welfare regions as well as training, safety coordination and risk management. This position receives general supervision for the Budget Director and direct supervision from the Child Welfare Regional Administrator and works closely with the Area Directors in each of the three Regions.

Minimum Qualifications


--------------------------

Four years of experience in administrative services; OR



Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR



A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in administrative services; OR



An advanced degree.



EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:



Prepare and track the annual budgets for Child Welfare program in the Alexandria, Monroe and Shreveport Regions with DCFS on behalf of the Budget Division. Prepare the monthly expenditure analysis and year to date expenditure. Confer with the Budge Director and Budget Administrators regarding expenditures and financial needs. Identify budget shortfalls within expenditures and makes recommendations on spending adjustments for the remainder of the fiscal year. Coordinate flights, hotel reservations and Enterprise reservations for in-state and out of state traveling. Retrieve receipts from staff to reconcile transactions associated with travel to ensure compliance with state travel regulations and reimbursement procedure. Review purchase orders submitted by regional field clerical staff. Perform related duties as assigned.

The domicile of this vacancy will be based on the applicant selected.





Appointment Type

: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.

Work Schedule:

Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
