Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Administrative Construction Assistant to directly support the field, and is primarily responsible for safety and administration on the job site. This position will also aid in supporting the office by administering new hire paperwork, drug tests, safety, part runs, vehicle maintenance, and other administrative tasks as needed.
Duties

  • Responsible for working with new hires to get their first day's paperwork completed and submitted to the office.
  • Performs New Hire Safety Orientation for new hires.
  • Maintains organization for candidates including drug testing, pre-employment paperwork, and greeting candidates on site.
  • Processes orders and maintains/delivers both housing supplies and job site supplies/parts.
  • Facilitates and organizes receipt collection from employees & suppliers.
  • Coordinates weekly Toolbox Talks for the Superintendent and crew. Submits completed paperwork to main office.
  • Works with Superintendent to complete incident reporting.
  • Completes job site safety walk throughs.
  • Verifies that all job site vehicles are inspected properly and have timely oil changes.
  • Completes monthly check of fire extinguishers.
  • Acts as a liaison by coordinating administrative activities between field management, other departments, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Establishes and maintains basic project control logs.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting or moving items 20 pounds or more.
  • Walking/standing on uneven grounds.
  • Exposure to loud noise levels on active job sites.
Position Type and Hours
This is a full-time position. 40 hours per week and may require longer hours including evenings, weekends, and overtime. Days are typically Monday through Friday.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of administrative experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree
  • Familiarity with construction industry.
