Job Summary:



The UW-Madison PA Program has an opening for an Administrative Assistant II position for our campus located at UW Platteville. This new role supports the strategic vision of the PA program by supporting the faculty and students who will earn their Master\'s degree in Physician Assistant Studies while remaining in Southwest Wisconsin. This position will work closely with the staff at UW Madison and will be part of committees and the entire PA Program Team in order to make this new distant campus a success! We are looking for someone who is organized, a strong communicator, and is interested in working with students and faculty.


Responsibilities:


Provides administrative support for a department, group of professionals, or to the manager of a work group consisting of professional staff and subordinate supervisors in support of unit goals, under general supervision
  • 15% Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
  • 25% Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • 15% Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • 15% Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • 10% Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • 20% Prepares space, equipment and supplies for student learning activities

Qualifications:




Required:
  • At least one year of office support experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred:
  • Experience working in higher education



Work Schedule:



M-F 7:45am - 4:30pm or as determined with your supervisor

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
