Job Description


The Legacy of Hartsville is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join its team. Our Administrative Assistant Team Members are responsible for providing administrative support and service to Community residents, associates, family and the public with a target of a high degree of customer satisfaction under the direction of the Executive Director. Responsible for general accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and bank reconciliations. Prepares financial statement and various reports.

Responsibilities

  • Supports mission, vision and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
  • Demonstrates a positive working relationship with residents, family members and staff.
  • Promotes and protects residents rights and treats residents with dignity and respect.
  • Attends in-services and relevant training courses as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintains professional appearance by adherence to community dress code.
  • Work schedules and assigned tasks are completed in accordance to the established policies and procedures of the community.
  • Safety precautions and practices are utilized with all activities.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to communicate and work with all levels of Company associates effectively.
  • Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
  • Typing skills \xe2\x80\x93 a minimum of 40 WPM.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
  • Ability to perform tasks in a neat, thorough, timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and an understanding of Healthcare, Assisted Living and Retirement communities.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills to relate to various groups and individuals.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor with all Residents, families and friends, third party providers, professional referral sources and the general public in representing the Community.
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize their time, follow-up with the ability to perform job tasks efficiently
Requirements
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Associate degree preferred.
  • Any combination of education, training or experience in payroll or accounting that would provide the knowledge required for this position.
  • Knowledge of effective supervisory and management practices, techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of computerized systems such as Excel and Word documents required.
  • Must be able to handle conflict, problems and emergency situations.
  • Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary setting with residents, families, staff members, representatives of community and government agencies.
  • Must be courteous, patient and tactful when dealing with the public, residents and family members.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (may obtain training once hired).
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities is required.
  • Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
