For nearly two centuries, The First Baptist Church of Freehold has been a beacon of love and service in our community. As we enter a new season of ministry, guided by a new pastor and seasoned staff, we are seeking an energetic, passionate, detailed-oriented Administrative Assistant.
This position requires thorough IT literacy, keen listening, and mature, organized leadership. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential as the Administrative Assistant generates printed content, including weekly Sunday Programs and monthly Newsletters.
Tasks include:
Answer phones, oversee calendar, draft correspondence and other documents, respond to emails, place supply orders, and maintain files.
Proofread, print, and photocopy Sunday Morning Programs created by the ministerial staff. Fluency with the G Suite as well as Microsoft Word, including the ability to insert photos, clip art, etc. a must. Knowledge of additional platforms such as Adobe Acrobat, Canva, or Publisher a plus.
Create and distribute semi-weekly e-reminders to our congregation highlighting church events and reminders.
Create, print, photocopy, and mail a Monthly Newsletter using a desktop publishing platform (i.e. Microsoft Word, Publisher, or Canva).
Assist in generating content for our live-streaming services, including creating slides of hymn texts, scriptures, and images.
Interface regularly with both the Pastor and Minister of Music to support administratively the ministries of the church.
Gifts and Skills:
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to proofread spelling and grammatical mistakes.
Fluency in word processing and desktop publishing skills using Microsoft Word and online platforms such as Google Docs and Canva.
Prior experience as a Church Secretary is a plus. Knowledge of Protestant Worship Services is a bonus.
The Administrative Assistant should possess a compassionate Heart and a non-anxious presence, remembering that the fundamental goal for all church Staff is to care for the congregation and community in the name of God's Love.
Note: This position is Part-Time, 11-13 hours per week.
