Job Description

Cromwell Public Schools is looking for a School Administrative Assistant for Cromwell High School. We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team. This full-time position is essential in supporting the daily operations of the school and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a positive educational environment.



Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to school staff, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings. Assist in the preparation and distribution of school communications, including newsletters, announcements, and reports. Maintain and update student records, files, and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Handle incoming calls, emails, and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed. Coordinate and assist with school events, activities, and meetings, including logistics and materials preparation. Manage office supplies and inventory, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels. Support the financial operations of the school by processing invoices, tracking expenses, and assisting with budgeting tasks. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to facilitate effective communication and workflow. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission of the school.


Requirements

High school diploma; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus. Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with office equipment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Reports to: Assistant Principal and Principal


Terms of Employment: $25.78 per hour per UPSEU contract salary schedule; 12-month position, health benefits, life insurance, eligible for a pension (please see contract for a complete list of all benefits).


Hours: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM (7.5 hours per day with a 30 minute lunch break (37.5 hours per week), 12 month position (work 6 hours per day during school breaks and summer.
