Jefferson Parish Human Services Authority (JPHSA) is a Local Governing Entity (LGE) created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1989. JPHSA is responsible for the management and operation of behavioral health and developmental disability Services in Jefferson Parish. JPHSA provides fully integrated primary and behavioral healthcare services through its JeffCare program.

Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
As an Administrative Assistant 5, you will,
Provides confidential clerical and administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer, including but not limited to, scheduling meetings and taking minutes
Serves as the Finance Operations Division timekeeper. Receives timesheets, reviews for accuracy of time calculations and completeness of entry; enters hours of work into LaGov
Receives EFT remittance advice and scans the incoming payments into the remote deposit capture feature for the bank; matches all EFT transactions from the bank account to the electronic and paper remittance advice
Remits advice, documents and places in a batch to submit to Revenue Services for posting.
Distributes checks and remittance advice for insurance payments to appropriate staff for processing
Serves as the Records Manager for the Finance Operations Division; coordinates the retrieval and pick up of requested files from JPHSA's archived records. Coordinates the destruction of records with the Records Officer; manages the process of physically destroying the records earmarked for destruction
Reviews JeffCare Self Pay Report provided monthly by the Revenue Cycle Analyst for following up with patients on outstanding balances
Receives phone calls and walk-ins for account information and provides information on outstanding balances
Reviews accounts monthly to determine what accounts are delinquent and what JPHSA amounts are collectable
Assists with verifying invoices and requisitions for goods and services weekly. Assists with coding invoices with appropriate expenditure, funding source, cost center, etc. Assists with verifying transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
Assists with preparing batches of invoices for data entry; entering invoices for payments; processing and reviewing edit reports after data entry to ensure accuracy
