Administrative Assistant – Mental Health Services for Assertive Community Treatment Program

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Program Overview: Located in Chula Vista, CA, Adelante provides intensive, community-based case management services and housing for homeless adults throughout Southern San Diego County. We deliver fully-integrated services to clients who are homeless, diagnosed with a serious mental illness, as well as to individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Our program utilizes the evidence-based practices of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Strength-Based Case management, and the Housing First model to support our clients in the higher level of community care and to assist them in reaching their goals: living a life that is not dominated by mental illness, homelessness, or substance use. Our teams are a model of care, providing treatment, rehabilitation, housing, and case management supports. Typical Duties of the Administrative Assistant The Administrative Assistant supports the Office Manager and/or Program Director to ensure the office operates efficiently and effectively. Performs a variety of clerical tasks in a fast-paced environment. Duties include:

  • Full-service clerical and reception duties including greeting visitors, answering phones and screening calls, taking messages, typing, filing, scheduling meetings, opening and distributing mail and performing data entry
  • May assist with preparation and processing of medical records
  • May audit medical records for adherence to billing requirements
  • Reporting and tracking information for program management
Qualifications/Skills Requirement
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel applications
  • Previous experience in a similar mental health program or medical office serving the population is desirable
  • Bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to pass criminal/background clearance
