The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child & Family Services Division.

This position provides essential clerical and administrative support to Child and Family Services social workers who serve Montana's foster care, child protection, and licensing programs.
In this role, you will help ensure accurate records, effective communication, and smooth daily operations that allow social workers to focus on protecting and supporting children. Your contributions directly support the well-being of Montana families.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing and typing correspondence, forms, and other documents
Maintaining and updating foster care and other child-related records
Assisting staff with maintaining accurate demographic and case-related information

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheet, word processing, database, email, internet and other computer programs.
Preferred
: Knowledge of the social services systems related to child protection issues.
Meet minimum qualifications:
+ High school diploma or its equivalent
+ Two years of job-related work experience in administrative support, receptionist or other related areas.

Additional Information
This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.
This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.00 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2026.
This position is open until filled with frequent screening of applicants.
