The Administration Officer for Exploration oversees and organizes data entry, filing, purchasing, assay uploads to database, geology log uploads to database, lab submittals, geotech logging and portable xrf operation. This role will be based at the Exploration office at the Haile mine site and report to the Exploration Manager. Essential functions include:
Inventory supplies for the Exploration department and maintain office supplies, pick up supplies from warehouse at site
Create purchase requisitions in Pronto. Track purchase orders and invoicing ensuring goods and services are delivered on a timely basis
Perform accurate data entry of handwritten geological logging information
Perform error checking on digital data sets and ensure the organization of geological data
Print hard copies of assay certificates and file in drill hole folders
Assist Geotechnicians and Drillers with geotechnical logging
Photograph core and download photos to data folder
Upload assays and geology logs to acQuire database
Compile drillers daily drill logs into spreadsheets and utilize daily drill log data to track drilling costs and consumables
Coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments
Prepare sample cups for pXrf analyses and operate portable Xrf instrument and download data
Answer gate calls and open with remote sensor; assist vendors as needed
Answer and direct incoming phone calls
Scan and file maps and documents
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years administrative experience, preferably in geological data management
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with acQuire database and Pronto desirable
Strong data entry, record keeping, and filing skills
Ability to operate office equipment and perform basic data analysis
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Demonstrated commitment to safety, community, and environment
Must be able to legally work in the USA and possess a valid USA driver's license
Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
Physical requirements:
Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts in a surface mine setting
Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Safely operate light vehicles
Wear required personal protective equipment
