Job Summary
Adjunct Instructor for various Dental Assisting courses.
Days and times to be determined.
Essential Functions
Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the ability to obtain.
Registered Dental Assistant in the State of Iowa.
Current Certified Dental Assistant or licensed Dentist in the State of Iowa.
DEA 314, 323: Registered Dental Hygienists can be approved to teach these courses.
3 years of non-teaching experience in the application of four-handed dentistry practices, either as a dental assistant or as a chairside assistant. CPR certified Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider.
Radiography license.
Demonstrated effectiveness working with populations having diverse values, and/or coming from varied cultures and backgrounds.
Teaching experience.
Various Dental Assisting courses, days, and times to be determined.
