Balance House is a 4-phase, year-long continuum of care aimed at helping young adult men recover from substance abuse and mental health issues. Almost no one likes being told what to do, and our clients are no exception; we establish relationships of love and trust with our clients, then leverage it to create constructive, life-positive momentum in their lives.

A person can spend their entire life either defending who they are, or becoming who they want to be--we help our clients to move from the former group to the latter. Honesty, personal accountability, and values-congruent behavior are indispensable components of the Balance House ethos for both clients and staff, but so is the ability to make (and take) a joke--we believe that if you aren't having fun, you aren't taking life seriously enough.

EVNSQ (pronounced "even square"), our residential program, is hiring a Full-time Resident Coordinator. Shifts are Sunday- Wednesday 2pm-10pm and Saturday 7a-3p. Pay is starting at $18/hr.

Job duties include:

-keeping the clients safe both physically and emotionally

-establishing and maintaining relationships with the clients while holding them accountable

-modeling, healthy, cooperative, and boundaried behavior both professionally and personally

-providing individualized care and interventions to clients based on each situation

-actively collaborating and communicating with clinical, medical, case management, administrative staff, and ownership

-participating in/cofacilitating activities with clients (including: hiking, softball, yoga, skiing, camping, recovery meetings, groups, sober events, service projects, etc.)

-if applicant is in recovery, a minimum of 18 months of continuous sobriety is mandatory

Prospective applicants should have:

-a valid driver's license

-good interpersonal skills (communication, conflict resolution, active listening, etc.)

-an interest in helping people

-compassion and patience

-a desire to learn
