Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and organized Activity Manager to lead engaging recreational and social programs for adults with disabilities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for residents by planning and executing meaningful activities tailored to their needs. The ideal candidate is someone who has high interest in and sensitivity toward personal care and health needs of adults with disabilities; is positive and caring; goal-oriented; organized; prompt; responsible and able to maintain confidentiality. The Activity Manager is someone who thrives on challenges and continually looks for opportunities to learn. Finally, the Activity Manager must be able to take direction and delegate responsibilities in a respectful manner.

Duties



Plan, coordinate and carry out all daily activities for residents. Plan and coordinate staffing schedules with assistance from the Services Manager. Supervise resident and staff on outings during activities. Develop and carry out the activities on a monthly activity calendar. Responsible for individual resident funds and facility petty cash for activities. Develop and implement programs that are tailored to resident's needs and designed to maximize their potential. Provide all major responsibilities and duties of a direct care provider. Monitor training on all new employees, responsible to ensure all training on the new employee checklist is complete and turned into Services Manager. Monitor all Fire Marshall and Tornado reports are done monthly and turned into QIDP. Lead by delegating duties, assigning tasks and following up with co-workers. Maintain a positive work environment for co-workers and residents. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality. To carry out responsibilities as may be delegated by the Services Manager. Supervise all direct care professionals in the absence of the Services Manager. Be responsible for the supervision and oversight of the residents' well-being. Assist, supervise and train residents in daily living, domestic and community living skills and make required documentation. Record and chart pertinent data in residential files as needed. Make monthly notations as to resident progress in individual programs, document and carry out weekly classes. Attend scheduled staff meetings, in-service training and conferences, if so designated by the Services Manager. Assist with training and supervision of direct care staff designated by the Services Manager. In the absence of Administrator/Services Manager, supervise the PM direct care professionals to maintain the quality of program. Request necessary program supplies. Provide transportation for residents as scheduled and requested. Provide assistance to Nurse as needed to maintain quality care for residents.

Skills



A person who possesses an attitude and philosophy of compassion for people and is willing to perform the job in a way consistent with the Christian principles upon which the facility was founded. CMA required/or willingness to achieve this. Must have initiative and knowledge to plan, organize, supervise and perform programs of variety to promote habilitation and activities. Must have interest and desire to learn new methods and forms of habilitation and be able to relay them to other staff members and residents. Must have patience and physical endurance. High school graduate or equivalent and 2 years' experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities or College Degree with one year of experience. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be willing to pick up weekends when short staffed or openings occur. Help with finding coverage with staff call ins, filling in if needed for an open shift.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
