Assist the Project Director in planning, organizing, and implementing social, educational, and recreational programs and activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates with the Director in planning, coordinating, and implementing a monthly activities calendar
Documents client activity participation and response
Provides input in planning and implementing individual client care plans
Participates in staff meetings
Assist clients in designated areas for meals and other activities
Observes clients' progress and reports to the Director/Nurse any changes or problems, assists with serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks
Always assists with the supervision of clients and in emergencies
Assist in ordering supplies for various activities
Performs other related duties as specified by the Director (i.e., assist with keeping the office area tidy, cleaning the refrigerator, kitchen shelves, sweeping the floor, cleaning the bathrooms, etc.)

Knowledge of methods and techniques for dealing with frail and physically and/or emotionally impaired people, or a willingness to learn
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus 3 years of experience in developing and conducting activities for the population served
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; plus, one year of experience (full-time or equivalent in developing and conducting generic activities, or associate's degree plus two years of appropriate experience
OR
National certification as an activity or therapeutic recreation professional, plus two years of appropriate experience
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
No certifications or licenses required
COMPUTER SKILLS
This position requires that the individual be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS
Must know how to utilize and operate a smart TV
Must have familiarity with social media, i.e., Facebook, YouTube, etc.
Ability to use a language translator app to communicate with clients who speak languages other than English
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
