The Lutheran Living Communities is seeking an Activity Assistant to serve the Nursing Facility Residents. The Activity Assistant is a vital member of the Activity Team. The Activity Assistant assists the Activity Director in carrying out various activities for the residents/tenants of our Community, including but not limited to: assisting residents/tenants to/from activities, assisting various musical entertainers, large and small group activities and 1 to 1 visits with residents. Hours of work are normally associated with the day shift hours, however, routine
evening and weekend hours are required
.
Qualifications and Skills
A high school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and skills will include developed communication and interpersonal skills. Functional literacy in English s required.
Ability to preserve confidential resident, employee and organizational information
Related experience is preferred
Ability to work with minimal supervision is required
Activity Coursework certification is Ideal, but not required
Willingness to take the Activity Director Course if not already received
Physical demands include:
Good physical, mental health, emotional stability and maturity
Work requires walking, standing or sitting for long periods of time
Work may require to work outside
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required
