Summary of Schedule

15-hours per week PM Shift *time may vary- 4:30pm-7:30pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm

Every other weekend (Saturday 8:30am-2:30pm and Sunday 12:30pm-2:30pm)

based on certification- CNA or Non-CNA*

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Activity Assistant to join our team and enhance the quality of life for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with seniors and creating engaging activities to promote physical and mental well-being.

Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and lead daily activities for residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed and within scope of practice/certification.
- Coordinate and facilitate social events, outings, and group activities
- Provide support for residents with dementia through specialized care techniques
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure residents' needs are met effectively
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff members

Qualifications

- Experience in social work, senior care, or caregiving is preferred
- Knowledge of event planning and scheduling management
- Familiarity with dementia care practices is a plus
- Ability to work in nursing home or home community care settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate attitude towards seniors and individuals with diverse needs
