This position will work 8:30A - 5:00P or 10A - 6:30P, depending on day and will work one weekend day each week.

Job Summary

The Activities Programmer has both an important and fun role of planning and implementing group and individual activities/programs to assist the dementia residents with enriching their life. These activities are important to ensure contact with the physical, social, and cultural environment of dementia residents on our Memory Care Unit. The Activities Programmer will supervise activities in accordance with Vermont State Code.

The perfect candidate for this role will:

• Work with minimal supervision, demonstrate ability to plan and support activities-based dementia care in collaboration with the Activities Director
• The ability to communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality and good public relations.
• Have the ability to work with people and groups of all ages and abilities
• Be creative, exercise discretion, good judgment, and understanding
• Exhibit a spirit of cooperation and have a friendly, pleasant personality

• Experience in long Term Care and Dementia is preferred, but we will train the right candidate.
• Organizational skills, ability to help plan and implement activities-based dementia care.
• Ability to identify residents\' needs and provide therapeutic activities to fulfill those needs.
• Good documentation skills and knowledge of computer programs.
• High School Diploma.
