Activities Director

As an Activities Director, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our community. Your creativity and passion for engaging activities will foster a vibrant, supportive environment that promotes social interaction and personal growth. You will design, implement, and oversee a variety of recreational programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents, including those with memory care requirements. What you'll do

Develop and execute engaging activity programs that cater to residents' interests and abilities. Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for individuals with disabilities and varying levels of cognitive function. Plan special events, outings, and celebrations that foster community spirit and enhance resident participation. Conduct assessments to identify residents' interests and needs, tailoring activities accordingly. Maintain accurate records of participation and program effectiveness to continually improve offerings. Provide support in assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and gather feedback.

Basic qualifications

Experience in event planning or recreational therapy within senior care settings. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and memory care practices. Strong communication skills to engage effectively with residents and their families.

Preferred qualifications

Background in assisted living or nursing home environments. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or long-term care experience. Familiarity with aging issues counseling or social work principles. Proven ability to manage schedules effectively while balancing multiple activities.
