Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team in enriching the lives of our members. Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and execute a variety of engaging activities tailored to members interests, abilities, and care needs, including recreational therapy sessions, arts and crafts, music programs, games, and outings. Collaborate with the Director of activities, nursing staff and caregivers to incorporate therapeutic activities that support memory care, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and other specialized needs. Communicate effectively with team members about activity participation and members preferences or concerns. Support aging issues counseling by providing social interaction opportunities that enhance emotional health and reduce feelings of isolation. Assist in creating a warm community atmosphere that encourages socialization, emotional support, and personal growth among members.

Qualifications

Proven experience in event planning or recreational programming within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or long-term care environments. Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and senior care best practices. Strong communication skills to effectively engage members and collaborate with the team. Ability to assist with ADLs and support members physical needs during activities. Experience in caregiving or home & community care is advantageous. Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve members quality of life through engaging in activities.
