Job Overview

As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by organizing and facilitating engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. You will work closely with residents in assisted living and nursing home settings, ensuring that each individual feels valued and included. Your creativity and compassion will shine as you develop programs tailored to the unique needs of seniors, including those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.

What you'll do

oversee recreational activities that cater to the interests and abilities of residents. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create individualized activity plans for residents with memory care needs. Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere by encouraging participation in group activities and one-on-one interactions. Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming. Engage with families to share insights about their loved ones' experiences and encourage their involvement in activities. Manage schedules effectively to ensure a variety of activities are available throughout the week.

Basic qualifications

Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members. Experience in senior care settings, including assisted living or nursing homes. Familiarity with recreational therapy principles and practices.

Preferred qualifications

Background in event planning or program development tailored for seniors. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring dementia care. Knowledge of aging issues counseling or social work principles.
