We are looking for a compassionate and energetic Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team and help create a vibrant and engaging environment for our residents.

: Full-time

Shifts

: Sunday - Thursday (Sunday: 9a-3:30pm, Monday: 9a-1pm, Tue-Thu: 1p-5p)

Job Summary

:

The Activities Assistant will support the Activities Director in planning, organizing, and implementing a variety of recreational, educational, and social activities for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with the elderly and a creative approach to enhancing their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in planning and executing daily, weekly, and monthly activities and events for residents.

- Encourage resident participation in activities and foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

- Coordinate with other staff members to ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities.

- Document resident attendance and participation in activities.

- Assist in the setup and cleanup of activity areas and materials.

- Provide one-on-one interaction and support to residents as needed.

- Assist with transporting residents to and from activity areas as required.

- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the activities program.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Previous experience working with the elderly or in a healthcare setting is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic approach to activities planning.

- Ability to work well in a team environment.

- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Physical Requirements

:

- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.

- Ability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activities for extended periods.

- Ability to assist in transferring residents safely.
