Shady Grove Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Aide to join our team at Shady Grove Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation. As an Activities Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our residents by planning and implementing activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and entertainment programs Collaborate with the Activities Director to develop and implement a monthly activity calendar that meets the needs and interests of our residents Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, bathing, and dressing, as needed Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, including listening to their concerns and providing reassurance Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activities Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas, including tables, chairs, and equipment Participate in care conferences and contribute to the development of individualized care plans for residents Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents and staff

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or training in gerontology or a related field preferred Ability to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic medical records (EMRs)
