The

Medical Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist

supports our revenue cycle by ensuring timely, accurate reimbursement for behavioral health services. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing processes, and the ability to manage sensitive patient information in compliance with

HIPAA and healthcare regulations

.

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Invoicing

Submit and track claims to insurance companies, Medicaid, and private pay clients Ensure accurate coding and documentation of behavioral health services Stay current on payer rules, billing procedures, and reimbursement guidelines Monitor aging reports, follow up on outstanding balances, and resolve claim denials Process patient payments and reconcile accounts

Recordkeeping & Compliance

Maintain accurate financial and billing records Ensure HIPAA compliance and safeguard patient confidentiality Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

Communication & Support

Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams about billing inquiries Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff for accurate documentation Provide excellent customer service regarding patient financial questions

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (

Bachelor's preferred

)

2+ years in medical billing or accounts receivable

(behavioral health or healthcare preferred)

Skills & Knowledge

Familiarity with insurance billing, CPT codes, and EHR/Practice Management Systems Proficient in Microsoft Excel and billing software Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality standards
