The

Accounts Payable Specialist

will be primarily responsible for the accounts payable processing cycle from 3-way match to vendor payment and reconciliation. The

Accounts Payable Specialist

will also provide accounting support to other financial accounting and administrative support areas as needed.




Job Duties will include:


Accurately enter high volume of vendor invoices into company specific systems. Schedule and process semi-weekly vendor payments and create credit memos as needed. Match receiving paperwork with incoming invoices and POs and work with receiving personnel to resolve discrepancies. Code invoices to proper general ledger account, fixed asset number, or purchase order and obtain proper approvals. Maintain system vendor master records including supporting documentation such as W-9s Reconcile and verify all company invoices and monthly statements, assign payments to applicable cost centers. Make and track appropriate sales and use tax payments on invoices as needed. Work with external vendors and internal purchasing personnel to resolve any invoice problems or inaccuracies. Monitor vendor agreements, identify opportunities for discounts. Ensure all accounts payable processes meet applicable compliance guidelines and corporate standards. Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records. Process annual 1099 reporting Collaborate with other departments and accounting team members. Assist with audits and other financial reporting requirements. Serve as backup support for reception and other accounting functions. Other tasks as assigned by management.
Associate degree in accounting or related discipline preferred, or equivalent work history. Knowledge of accounts payable accounting practices. Knowledge of office administration and procedures. Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures. Knowledge of general accounting principles. Proficient in relevant computer software. Strong analytical skills. Strong accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Efficient organizational skills. Proficiency with information management. Problem analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to be an effective team member. Perform duties with a sense of urgency. Possess the tenacity to bring closure to outstanding issues. Excellent customer service skills.
