This position ensures that all accounts payable tasks are executed properly. The employee is responsible for processing financial information and documentation pertaining to general ledger and other financial activities. Grade 21
Duties and Responsibilities

Process financial information and documentation pertaining to general ledger and other financial activities.
Assist in payables functions, duties include receive and validate invoices and requisitions, process invoices for vendor payment, establish and update vendor files,
Process employee travel reimbursements, reconciles travel advances, and records journal entries.
Calculate and enter data; balance reports; print and distribute checks.
Communicate with vendors and other clients.
Pay vendors that deal with the County; reimburse County employees who incur work-related expenses.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Process all documentation relating to payroll for County employees.
Assist and provide information and documentation to auditors.
Perform general administrative tasks.
Prepare reports, compiles statistical administrative data, and performs research as needed.
Assist with other general accounting and bookkeeping.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; seven (7) to ten (10) years directly related experience; or Associate's degree in business, accounting, or related field and three (3) to less than five (5) years directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's Degree in business, finance accounting, or related field, and less than two (2) years directly related experience is preferred.
Licenses or Certifications

Possession of a valid, State of North Carolina driver's license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment. Possess or ability to obtain Notary Public is preferred.
