Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Accounting Supervisor

to oversee and manage our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, extensive knowledge of GAAP, and experience with various financial software. This role involves supervising accounting staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting financial reporting processes. The Accounting Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements across diverse sectors including non-profit, governmental, and corporate accounting.

Responsibilities



Supervise daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries. Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. Ensure accurate account reconciliation, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliation processes are maintained. Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals and adjustments. Oversee regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with securities law and other legal standards. Mentor and develop accounting staff through training on technical accounting principles such as SOX compliance, LIHTC regulations, and governmental accounting standards. Review financial report writing and interpretation to support management decision-making. Conduct financial analysis including cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Maintain expertise in various accounting software such as Sage, Xero, and other financial management tools. Support internal audits and coordinate external audit processes to ensure compliance with auditing standards. Assist in tax preparation processes leveraging tax experience to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Implement best practices for account analysis, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.

Skills



Extensive knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, corporate finance principles, and non-profit or governmental accounting standards. Proficiency in financial software including Sage, Xero, and other relevant tools; strong technical accounting skills. Experience with financial report writing, interpretation of financial statements, and regulatory reporting requirements. Strong understanding of debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and bookkeeping fundamentals. Ability to perform detailed account analysis, bank reconciliation, cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and accrual accounting. Excellent leadership skills with experience mentoring accounting teams; ability to foster professional development. Strong analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of securities law, wills & estate law (nice-to-have), private equity (nice-to-have), and other specialized areas as needed. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment; high level of financial acumen. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $75,074.80 - $90,412.66 per year

Expected hours: 35 - 70 per week
