This position is responsible for the general functions of payroll including payroll taxes, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, reconciling vendors, credit cards and balance sheet accounts. This position requires utilization of their technical accounting expertise to provide support as stated under essential job functions and/or other tasks assigned by the accounting manager and CFO.

Essential Job Functions:
Assist in implementing and maintaining procedures and policies
Process accounts payables, accounts receivables, and payroll
Review accounts payable invoices, assigns vendor numbers and similar identifying data, and confirm correct project and accounting codes
Enter vendor information into accounting software system; verify that invoice information is entered correctly
A/P payment processing, including garnishment, child support, 401K and Union payments
1099 processing and maintenance
Research, resolve, and communicate discrepancies and outstanding balances on customer accounts to upper management
Assist with tracking and maintaining A/R aging for all companies
Process and submit project billings and cash receipts
Able to complete and review payroll processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for multiple companies, and multiple states that include union, Davis Bacon and Service Contract Act payrolls
Prepare and file payroll taxes as well as monthly, quarterly and annual tax payments and filings, confirming that they balance to the general ledger accounts
Prepare and e-file W-2 forms
Provide year-end support for auditor requirements to include research and reconciliations
Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
Perform other duties as requested and assigned to support the accounting department as well as the company as a whole

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
Three (3) years' experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll processing with accounts payable experience
Government Contract Experience preferred
Computer proficiency with knowledge of MS Office and accounting software applications
Strong Computer knowledge of Excel and database skills
Deltek Costpoint and Time and Expense Software experience is preferred but not required
