Assistant Controller (Construction - CPA)

Position Overview:
The Assistant Controller will support the Controller in all areas of construction accounting, with a strong emphasis on percentage of completion reporting. You will play a critical role in tracking project costs, ensuring GAAP compliance, and managing internal financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage job costing and track project financials using percentage of completion accounting.
Assist with preparation of financial statements and month-end close processes.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of sales and use taxes.
Collaborate with project managers to maintain budget accuracy and forecast projections.
Support audits and help maintain internal controls.
Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and project profitability reports.
Help implement systems and processes for better financial visibility and control.
Qualifications:
CPA certification required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3-5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
Strong understanding of percentage of completion revenue recognition and GAAP.
Proficient in construction accounting software (e.g., Business Central) and Excel.
Detail-oriented, analytical, and a strong communicator.
