We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. Under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Clerk performs a variety of routine accounting and clerical duties to support the organization's financial operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our accounting records through journal entries, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine accounting tasks in accordance with established policies and deadlines.
Prepare and post recurring, standard, and monthly journal entries.
Post and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and proper coding.
Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries.
Record and reconcile intercompany transactions between affiliated entities.
Prepare bank account reconciliations; investigate and document discrepancies.
Complete various monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Provide support and documentation to senior accounting staff and auditors as needed.
Refer difficult or unusual accounting problems to senior accounting personnel for resolution.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic understanding of accounting principles and general ledger processes.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and Sage Intacc
t
preferred.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma required; Associate's or higher-level degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related clerical work required.
