to join our team within the Office of Student Financial Assistance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing accounting and reconciliation duties related to state and federal student financial aid and loan programs. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, professional communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Key Responsibilities
Review, verify, and vouch deposits and disbursements for state and federal student aid programs.
Perform weekly and monthly fund reconciliations.
Prepare, maintain, and update accounting procedures and training manuals.
Conduct compliance reviews of nonpublic post-secondary institutions.
Work collaboratively within a professional business environment.
Utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access for daily accounting functions.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Accounting
or
Community College Accounting Certificate.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of professional business office experience.
At least 1 year performing fund reconciliations and auditing/processing invoices.
Familiarity with
FLAIR
or
FLPALM
accounting systems (highly desired).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
Experience conducting compliance reviews of educational institutions preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
