Position Summary & Responsibilities:



Position Summary:




This Accountant position works in the District Three office located in Norton, KS. This is a Professional, administrative position responsible for review, maintenance, and control of financial records and fiscal expenditures for the District.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:



Participates in the establishment and development of accounting procedures, budget and fiscal control policies and procedures. Conducts audits of each maintenance and construction office in the District to ensure that their accounting procedures are in compliance with appropriate rules, regulations and statutes. Provides guidance, counseling, and training opportunities to subordinates. Assists in overseeing inventory accounting and control on physical inventory, maintains inventory records including data entry updates, and prepares and tracks transfer/disposal records. Facilitates the coordination of fiscal matters between KDOT Headquarters and the District and District Field Offices.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:



One year of experience in professional accounting/auditing work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Transcripts are required for education to be considered.

Valid Driver's License at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:



Two years of experience in professional accounting/auditing work.
