Overview:

iAnthus is a looking for a Staff or Senior Accountant to support multiple accounting responsibilities within a publicly traded, multi-state, multi-company organization. This position is responsible for general accounting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations, preparation of financial statements for multiple entities, assisting with account payable and receivable processes, assisting with ERP enhancements and other related tasks. The position requires solid understanding of GAAP, an ability to review and analyze information, and develop an understanding of the business and the financial reporting for the business. Summary/Objective:

The Staff or Senior Accountant reports directly to the Senior Manager, Accounting.

The Staff or Senior Accountant works as part of a centralized accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensure legal requirements compliance, and manage invoices and tax payments. The Staff or Senior Accountant works closely with the Senior Manager, Accounting and the financial team to generate, maintain, and review accounting records, and support special projects including annual budgets, annual audits and monthly and year-end financial statements and reports. The position acts as a trusted accounting resource to employees, provides support to Management on accounting related matters, and ensures accounting policy compliance for iAnthus businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and accurate month-end accounting close and associated tasks:
  • Maintain, analyzes, and reconciles all G/L accounts for multiple company subsidiaries
  • Record and maintain intercompany balances
  • Prepare and review elimination and consolidation entries
  • Prepare schedules of amortization of prepaid expenses and deferred charges
  • Reconcile Fixed Asset detail
  • Prepare accounts receivable related account reconciliations
  • Investigate troubled accounts, communicate problems, and provide solutions
  • Update daily/weekly cash management reports for multiple company subsidiaries
  • Work closely with operations, accounts payable, and purchasing to track and record fixed assets and prepaids
  • Prepare monthly Sales Tax Filings
  • Seek opportunities to streamline and improve accounting transactions and work with the business to provide accounting and analytical support to meet internal customer needs

Required Education and Experience:
  • The Staff or Senior Accountant should have a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent accounting experience, as well as a knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, procedures, and application
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; with responsive feedback
  • Microsoft Excel skills to include VLOOKUP, pivot table, external linking, and respect for proper database management and accuracy to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Strong PC skills including working knowledge of Excel and ERP software (Sage X3 Preferred, or SAP, MS Dynamics, Quickbooks)
  • The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of accounting, finance and bookkeeping experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.
  • CPA, or CPA candidate, a plus.
Travel:

Minimal travel is expected for this position.
