Valvoline Global Operations Headquarters is located in Lexington, KY. We prefer local candidates willing to work an in-office work schedule (3 days per week). This position is also open to candidates working in a remote capacity.

How You'll Make an Impact

This position will support the cost accounting function of all North American manufacturing & warehousing facilities. This role serves a key function in ensuring the accuracy of VGO material costs, COGS & inventory reporting, & absorption performance to ensure operational costs are fully accounted for in monthly P&L.

Responsibilities Include

Monthly review of material cost movements Monthly review of process/production order validity Review of absorption performance monthly with analysis for fluctuations in absorption vs. expectation Calculation of obsolete reserve & lower of cost/market reserve Calculation of business interruption impact & associated plant profitability Calculation of ABC costing rates to drive full absorption at all NA MFG facilities Work with the larger business to provide insights into costing issues/questions Provide analysis on absorption impact from bids for new business Understanding of vendor rebates & royalties, & accrual calculations/postings Working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, & applicable regulatory framework Internal control performance & ownership Continuous improvement mindset - eye toward process improvement as we navigate S4 transition

What You'll Need

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance 1 - 3 years of Manufacturing accounting experience Strong analytical skills Strong technical skills, with an ability to manipulate data sets in Excel
