Regulated Property Accountant II:

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Regulated Property Accountant II to join their team!

Our client is a dynamic organization that operates in the energy sector. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant II to join their Regulated Property Accounting team. As a key player in the Finance Department, you will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on the financial activities related to regulated assets. This role demands a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports related to regulated energy properties, ensuring compliance with energy industry regulations, accounting standards, and internal guidelines.
• Stay current with energy industry-specific regulations, including FERC form 2 and state-specific requirements, and ensure that financial practices align with these standards.
• Maintain accurate records of regulated energy property assets, including depreciation schedules, asset retirement obligations, and other pertinent financial data.
• Analyze budget versus actual financial performance for regulated energy assets, offering insights into variances or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide the necessary documentation and address audit inquiries related to regulated property accounting within the energy sector.
• Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems to identify areas for enhancement, efficiency, and increased compliance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Regulatory Compliance, Legal, and Asset Management, to address financial matters specific to regulated energy properties.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or relevant certification is a strong asset.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis with a strong focus on regulated property accounting within the energy industry.
• Knowledge of energy industry regulations, including FERC, state regulatory commissions, and relevant accounting standards.
• Familiarity with energy industry-specific software and tools for financial analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
