We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our finance team. Duties



Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms. Perform general ledger accounting tasks, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy and identify discrepancies for prompt resolution. Prepare detailed financial reports, including income statements, cash flow statements, and budget reports to support management decision-making. Reconcile bank statements through bank reconciliation processes to ensure consistency between bank records and company books. Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance activities related to governmental accounting standards. Maintain meticulous records of journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation documentation for audit readiness. Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and providing insights into financial trends and variances. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial records. Ensure accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping practices by verifying debits & credits are correctly posted across all accounts. Utilize technical accounting knowledge to assist with special projects involving governmental or non-profit accounting requirements when applicable.

Qualifications



Proven experience in corporate or non-profit accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP standards. Proficiency in popular accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, or similar platforms; experience with multiple systems is a plus. Solid knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles, general ledger management, and account reconciliation techniques. Familiarity with financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable management, and bank reconciliation procedures. Experience with payroll processing and tax compliance is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and prepare comprehensive financial reports. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy. Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while maintaining high levels of confidentiality. Knowledge of governmental or non-profit accounting standards is advantageous but not mandatory. Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
