Job Description

VIP Hospitality Group is a Pacific Northwest-based company with a portfolio of hotels, B&Bs, cafes, and restaurants in Oregon and Washington. We are looking for an Accountant to work in Anacortes, WA, directly with the Washington Hotels.

Summary and Purpose


The property accountant is responsible for recording, tracking, and analyzing financial transactions to create reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide analytical advice on financial performance.

Responsibilities


Prepare monthly financial statements for each property Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for the properties Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports such as income statements, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets Reconcile bank statements Assist with budgeting and forecasting for the properties Ensure compliance with lease agreements and other financial obligations Coordinate with general managers and other team members to resolve financial issues Train general managers on supporting responsibilities and bill payment Assist with the preparation of tax payments and preparing quarterly estimates and annual tax returns Prepare condo owner statements and provide investors with information Process Invoices and expense reports Ensuring all financial activities comply with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations Performing audits and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance

Qualifications and Experience


Associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Basic knowledge of computers and software, including the ability to use e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Physical Requirements


Primarily sedentary role requiring this person to sit for long periods. Manual dexterity using one's fingers and hands for tasks like typing, using a calculator, and handling documents. * Good close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to reading screens and documents simultaneously.
