Step into a key leadership role as the Accountant 1-4 for the SNAP/DDS Fraud Recovery Unit. In this position, you will take the lead on analyzing, classifying, and reconciling fraud recoveries and Treasury Offset Program (TOP) collections--ensuring accuracy across state and federal funding streams and maintaining audit-ready records in LaGov.
You'll work closely with partners across DCFS, SSA, FNS, and LDH Program Integrity, becoming the go-to expert for federal fund accountability and complex transaction troubleshooting. Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Performs Complex Reconciliations and Fund Analysis.
Independently reconciles high-volume cash transactions for SNAP and DDS fraud recovery, ensuring alignment with LaGov general ledger balances, cost centers, and fund types.
Supports Federal Financial Reporting and Grant Monitoring.
Prepares supporting schedules and documentation for federal reports. Verifies expenditures and revenues align with grant terms. Compiles data for federal drawdown schedules and supports timely reporting through reconciliation and validation.
Oversees Transaction Processing and LaGov Monitoring.
Processes and/or monitors LaGov transactions related to fraud recovery and SNAP/DDS collections. Reviews parked or rejected entries, works with program or fiscal staff to resolve coding errors, and ensures transactions are properly classified by fund and cost center.
Maintains Audit-Ready Records and Responds to Data Requests.
Maintains documentation required for internal, state, or federal audits. Assists in preparing responses to audit findings. Ensures records are properly organized and retrievable by cost center, grant, or transaction type.
Reviews and Provides Technical Support to Other Staff.
Assists entry-level staff with transaction coding, documentation standards, and reporting timelines. Reviews work for accuracy and compliance with OSRAP and federal guidance. Serves as a resource for questions related to cost classification and LaGov navigation.
