Job Summary

Responsible for managing all accounting and financial activities of the company.

Responsibilities

Finance and accounting

o Oversee all accounts payable and receivable

o Maintenance of general ledger

o Complete monthly bank reconciliations and accrual entries

o Prepare monthly financial statements for executive review

o Maintain company equipment & vehicle records

o Maintain depreciation schedule with Accounting firm

o Assist Accounting firm with tax preparation

o Maintain all certificates of insurance for subcontractors

Project-specific accounting

o Track project-specific costs, including labor, materials, and overhead

o Place appropriate invoices in line for payment

o File job invoices in job file for monthly payment application preparation

o Prepare monthly pay applications for jobs and work orders

o Write checks to vendors after approval and as directed

o Maintain sales tax exemption files and records

o Prepare and track work orders, work order job cost, and work order billing

Compliance and Controls

o Ensure all financial activities adhere to generally accepted accounting principles

o Maintain financial records to support internal and external audits and assist with auditors

o Collect and track lien waivers from subcontractors and vendors

o Prepare and file State and local sales and use tax payments

Payroll

o Manage payroll preparation for field and office personnel

o Prepare and file all State and Federal payroll reports

o Have knowledge of Certified Payroll requirements and filing procedures

o Maintain vacation records for all employees

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred

Specific experience in construction or project-based accounting strongly preferred

Expertise in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Proficient communication and organizational skills is essential

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
