Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming calls, coordinating emergency responses, and ensuring effective communication between various departments. This role requires a strong ability to multitask, excellent communication skills, and a keen understanding of emergency protocols.

Responsibilities

Receive and prioritize incoming calls, assessing the urgency of each situation. Dispatch appropriate emergency services and personnel based on the nature of the call. Maintain accurate records of all communications and dispatches. Utilize GIS and GPS technology to track locations and optimize response times. Conduct phone triage to gather essential information from callers. Collaborate with law enforcement, medical personnel, and other agencies as needed. Provide clear instructions to callers while maintaining professionalism and empathy. Manage multi-line phone systems efficiently during high-pressure situations. Analyze data related to dispatch operations for continuous improvement. Engage in conflict management to de-escalate tense situations effectively.

Skills

Proficiency in GIS technology for mapping and location tracking. Strong phone etiquette with the ability to communicate clearly under pressure. Excellent typing skills for accurate data entry and transcription of information. Strong negotiation skills to manage resources effectively during emergencies. Proven analysis skills to evaluate situations quickly and make informed decisions. Experience in dispatching operations is preferred, along with knowledge of security protocols. Ability to work 12 hour shifts. Working cell phone or form of communication. reliable transportation to and from work. Ability to handle conflict management with a calm demeanor in stressful environments.
