We are seeking a skilled and passionate Part-Time Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sushi preparation, food safety, and fine dining. This role involves creating high-quality sushi dishes, menu planning, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The Sushi Chef will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests, ensuring consistency and excellence in every plate served.
Responsibilities
Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
Plan and develop sushi menus that align with customer preferences and dietary requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work station in compliance with food safety regulations
Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing, rolling, and garnishing sushi items
Ensure proper storage of ingredients and monitor inventory levels for freshness and quality
Adhere to food handling procedures, sanitation standards, and safety protocols at all times
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service during busy periods
Assist with catering events or special menu offerings as needed
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new techniques, and innovative sushi styles
Skills
Extensive culinary experience with a focus on sushi or Japanese cuisine
Strong knife skills and proficiency in various food preparation techniques
Experience in fine dining environments or upscale restaurants preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
Ability to plan menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences
Excellent food presentation skills with attention to detail
Experience in food service, cooking, or kitchen operations within the food industry
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
