Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

$30 / hr OT after 40 Monday - Friday. 4am to 7am start time 7 - 12 stops per day on average. Decking, siding, building materials, lumber yard deliveries, 48' Curtain-side trailers, automatic trucks, day cabs, prefer some previous flatbed/curtain-side experience, strapping/load securement required

NO VIOLATIONS IN LAST 12 MONTHs

Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and flatbed trucks, to transport freight to various locations. Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Load and unload cargo as necessary, ensuring proper handling of materials. Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each route. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road. Assist in training new drivers on route procedures and vehicle operation when necessary.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a minimum of 12 months of Class A CDL driving experience in the last 2 years. Proven experience in truck driving flatbed trucks and a strong knowledge of strapping and load securement. Strong knowledge of route driving practices and freight handling procedures. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues. Excellent time management skills with a focus on punctuality. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Must be able to pass background checks and drug screenings as required by company policy.
