ART TEACHERS - SECONDARY
SCHOOL YEAR 2026-2027

Do you have a desire to teach students to express themselves through art? Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for art teaching positions that may become available within our division for the 2026-2027 school year.
Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To develop and implement an instructional program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher's License with appropriate endorsement to teach art PreK-12

• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials

• Possess ability to effectively assess student learning and use results to plan and implement appropriate instruction

• Integrate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning

• Utilize Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework

• Create and maintain an inclusive, supportive learning environment that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of all students

• Communicate effectively with strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• Engage and collaborate effectively with parents and families

• Collaborate with other teachers and contribute to a positive team environment

• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability in fulfilling responsibilities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a master's degree in Education

Salary: $52,832.35 - $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (Salary may change due to 2026-2027 budget considerations)
FLSA: Exempt
