Job Description

The VISTA will strengthen YouthBuild Lake County's capacity to implement and sustain donor engagement, fundraising, and community outreach strategies. The VISTA will begin by supporting the execution of the existing donor engagement plan, documenting workflows, and building a library of communication templates, including thank-you letters, impact updates, and recognition materials. They will maintain and organize donor data in CRM or spreadsheets, develop segmented outreach lists, and create standardized processes for stewardship activities, ensuring sustainability beyond the VISTA term. The VISTA will also develop and standardize materials for digital and print communications, including website content, social media posts, newsletters, and impact stories, creating a centralized story bank and messaging guides for future campaigns. Additionally, the VISTA will research and track funding opportunities, assist in drafting proposals and letters of inquiry, and build reusable tools to support long-term grant and donor strategies. The VISTA will coordinate campaign events, designing toolkits, templates, and engagement systems that allow staff and volunteers to consistently plan, manage, and evaluate events. Through these activities, the VISTA will help YouthBuild Lake County build replicable systems that strengthen donor relationships, expand support, and ensure sustainable fundraising and community engagement for years to come.

Member Duties :

The VISTA will strengthen YouthBuild Lake County's donor engagement and fundraising capacity by documenting and systematizing existing workflows, managing and organizing donor data, and creating reusable communication templates. They will develop standardized donor materials, digital content, and messaging guides, maintain a story bank of impact data, and support prospect research, proposal drafting, and grant tracking. The VISTA will also coordinate campaign events by creating planning toolkits, templates, and volunteer engagement systems, establishing post-event evaluation processes, and building stakeholder outreach lists. Their work will create sustainable, replicable systems that enhance donor relationships, expand support, and ensure long-term organizational capacity.
