2026 Summer Law Clerk - Birmingham, Alabama

The University of Alabama System is seeking applicants for a summer law clerk position located on-site at the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus. The clerk will work with attorneys from both the University and the UAB Health System, gaining exposure to a broad range of legal matters. This position offers flexibility in both full-time or part-time scheduling and allows for adjustable start and end dates during the summer of 2026.

Required Qualifications

:

Second-year student in a J.D. program at an ABA-accredited law school Strong legal research and analytical abilities Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgment Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education/Training/Experience

:

Demonstrated strong academic performance at both the undergraduate and law school levels; a minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

:

Conduct timely and effective legal research and writing Provide support to University Counsel on various projects and legal matters as needed

Summer law clerks are compensated at a rate of $30.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits.
