Job Description

Position Purpose

Responsible for developing and maintaining the hotel's market to generate and maximize business for the property and provide the necessary support to the field sales team.



Essential Job Functions

Communicate with agents to support achieve monthly booking goals. Analyze customer data to optimize sales efforts Work with department heads to develop effective sales and marketing strategies that will help the organization meet sales goals; coordinate to ensure sales, marketing, queries, and deliveries are handled efficiently Function as effective liaison between clients and hotel personnel and ensure high-quality and up-to-date support material Develop and maintain sales records and reports and handle file maintenance. Handle calls, emails, and messages and coordinate sales schedules within the team Maintain awareness of market situation and its impact on the hotel. Anticipate business needs with flexible planning. Assist to create new promotions Handle and process all orders with accuracy and timeliness Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form. Ensure the adequacy of sales-related equipment or material Respond to complaints or feedback from customers and give after-sales supported where needed Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.

Interact in a courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members. Respond in a courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Exceptional oral communication skills to ensure ability to negotiate and persuade guests and staff to achieve results beneficial to operation of hotel. Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required. Extensive knowledge of the hotel, its services, and facilities. Excellent knowledge of sales and advertising strategies Strong problem solving skills to be able to provide solutions in challenging situations Knowledge of basic financial principles Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, superiors and subordinates in sometimes intense emotional situations. Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups to managers, clients, customers, and ownership. Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Qualifications

Special Position Requirements

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. Current knowledge of industry trends and regulations.

Required Education and Experience

High school or equivalent education required Diploma or degree in business, marketing, or a related field a plus.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Minimum 2 years Sales Coordinator or Sales Administrative Assistant experience in hotel/hospitality industry.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
